About us
Engineering Communications Ltd
Established in 2008, Engineering Communications Ltd has successfully filled a niche in the market by offering writing services based on a wide experience in many technical fields. Whether writing concise documentation that needs to be understood by industry specialists or translating technical concepts into language the end user can relate to, Engineering Communications can deliver. The vast majority of New Zealand companies are small to medium businesses and being one ourselves, we understand your need to get the best value for your money. We tailor the work to your budget but also have the resources to grow as your business does. By keeping the company small, we keep overheads low and are able to offer a personal service and take on work that interests us rather than chasing every project available. Through our industry contacts we have access to a range of trusted, independent contractors to provide us the extra help when required and enable us to deliver a high quality product from concept to completion. We do not advertise heavily but mainly rely on personal recommendations and networks for the majority of our business. Call Roger today on (09) 528 1160 to discover more. Roger Lacey
Managing director, Senior writer A toolmaker by trade, Roger has a wide range of practical experience in many industries. He has worked in both toolmaking and light fabrication workshops and has held supervisory roles in the printing and packaging, vinyl welding and hot foil stamping industries. He spent seven years in engineering machinery sales and servicing before founding Engineering Communications Ltd in 2008. Roger was inspired to start the business after reading many brochures, instruction manuals and press releases that were written by technical people with little or no understanding of the target audience. His practical background allows him to write and illustrate operating procedures that can be easily followed and understood, while his sales experience gives him the ability to create compelling sales copy. Roger's personal involvement in all projects means that customers have the reassurance of dealing with a central contact who will manage all aspects from start to finish. Along with his regular work, he writes articles for The Shed magazine, Boating New Zealand and other publications. Married with an eight year-old daughter, two cats and a dog, any spare time is spent on woodwork projects, road cycling, boating or cooking in his outdoor pizza oven. |
What others say…
"Roger was given the difficult task of writing detailed marketing brochures for a civil engineering client. Without fail he delivered the goods, on time, every time. He also proved to be my go-to person when I had queries of a technical nature and he was consistently helpful and never once impatient. If you have any technical writing that needs a competent professional, choose Roger." Lynnaire Johnston - Word Wizard "Alert Engineering employed Engineering Communications Ltd to prepare a brochure and a promotional video for our AGP 220 scrap metal baling press that we were promoting at a trade fair in the USA.
Roger wrote the script, arranged for the video shoot, professional voice-over and the production of 250 finished DVDs. He also wrote and arranged the production of the accompanying four page A4 brochure and a presentation folder. The whole project was completed within a tight timeframe and we were delighted with the results. Following the trade fair in the USA we decided to promote our machine at a show in Japan. Once again we employed Engineering Communications Ltd to translate the video and brochure into Japanese. This was once again done to the highest standard. We highly recommend Engineering Communications Ltd." Kelvin Healy - Alert Engineering |
